Default Needs help!

Hi, i'm a 16 y.o. kid trying to get an 89' jag xjs running. this vehicle hasn't been running for approximately 3 and a 1/2 years. my dad is willing to do all the work on the vehicle but i was wondering where i could obtain a factory service manual. i was also wondering what kind of repairs the vehicle may need, and if possible a rough estimate of repairs. if u can help please reply please and thank you

Hello & Welcome to the forum. You should post your question on the xjs forum and you may get some response. I found a CD tech manual on e-bay, you might try there. I would imagine an xjs that old and not running for that length of time would drain your Dad's wallet and patience. But, who knows. I bought a 99xj8 for my 19 year old to keep him out of the rice burner drifting cars. There great rides. My Boss has an 84 xjs and the electrical gremlins kill him.....Good luck

Welcome to the Forum. Good info' to be had in the XJS section, but I think that you should also be doing some of the work and not leave it all to dad.

You will learn a lot, and enjoy yourself.

welcome to the forum and +1 on translators comments.
Don't leave it all to Dad....spend some father/son time and learn lots about your new car in the process

I wasn't planning on leaving it all to my dad, of course! i meant he was simply going to be helping me so i didn't have to go to a mechanic, but thanks for the advice on going to the xjs section
