New '16 F-Type R owner
Hello all! Long-time auto-enthusiast, first time Jaguar owner in the Boise area of Idaho. I decided to delve a bit into the community and here I am.
In high school in SoCal in '96 one of my fellow students was rolling out of the parking lot in his brand new Trans Am WS6 (w/ Ram Air). The over-the-top aggressive look and sound just cried out to me. I decided that instant I was going to own one one day. I got my dream car, my '00 WS6 in '01. I've held onto it all these years as my fun car. We moved to Idaho in '08. Circa 2016 or so I was getting up to speed on the freeway in a spirited fashion, but surprisingly something on my left started walking me. As he passed I saw the Jaguar, F-Type, and R badges. After it was obvious he was in the faster machine (which didn't take long) he let off and I was greeted by the nastiest pops and crackles I had ever heard. I swore that day I would own one one day.
Fast forward to a couple months ago, that day finally came. I took delivery on my low-mile '16 F-Type R from a dealership in Cali. I think I still have perma-grin. I work from home, but I've put over 2000 miles on it already. My love for driving is back again!
I look forward to getting to know everyone. Go easy on me, I'm new to Jaguars and the F-Type.

Thank you! The exhaust note and the ability to put you back in your seat -- it's truly the British version of a muscle car, but with some refinement and luxury. I miss having the clutch and proper stick shift, but it scratches that itch I didn't know I had. I've found myself bouncing off the rev-limiter a couple times because the power feels endless. Driving under overpasses on the freeway I roll the windows down and downshift 2-3 gears. The sound is like being at a NASCAR event, except it's all coming from my own car. How is this legal?
