Hello, Kev,
I agree with you, Seat Belt "chimes," buzzers et al are one of the Most annoying "features" of modern automobiles!
I know there's a way to shut them off when working under the dash for example, otherwise repair shops would be strewn with dead cars blown to smithereens by mechanics who finally lost it.
Someone will be along shortly to direct you to the proper section where members can answer all your Jaguar questions.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums Kev,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the X350 forum with this question so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

There is a link in one of the replies to your question in X350 forum suggesting it can be done with multiple key and belt insertion cycles. This may work and it may be possible to turn it off with Jaguar SDD but, as it's a Type Approval requirement in the UK, I would be surprised.
If it bothers you that much, get a belt "tongue" from a breaker and leave it in the buckle. This will signal the Hall Effect Sensor that a belt has been inserted.
