Default New in Arizona

Hello, I just bought my first Jag and I'm really enjoying it so far. It has a few little issues but seems to be pretty nice overall. It's a 99 VDP with 86,000 miles.

Thanks for the welcome.

Can anyone recommend a good Jaguar repair shop in town? I'm in the east valley (Chandler).

Hi 70gsrick,

I'm on the other side of town.
There's not too much choice for shops, there is the dealer of course in Scottsdale, and someone mentioned Scottsdale Exotic Cars but I've no first hand experience of them. I'm thinking there is another European specialist maybe Autohouse?

Found it http://www.autohausaz.com/jaguar-auto-parts/index.html

Welcome Aboard!

You're going to love your '99 VDP, I've got one myself with 108K on it. Very reliable car and a joy to drive. The '06 I just bought is very similar but very different at the same time. The '99 just kind of wraps you up like a glove!

As to a mechanic, you would do well to try Greg Nel at British Automotive Repair in North Scottsdale. Very reasonable. I haven't used him very much since I live most of the time up here in Prescott but spend a good deal of time in Phoenix too. You can trust him.

Are you going to join the Jag Club of Central Arizona?

Enjoy

Thanks for the recommendation I'll check that out. I figured there was probably a club and yes I'd love to join. I'm looking forward to getting to know this car. It's not perfect but with a little blood and money it should be really nice. It has a couple of dings and one leak that need to be fixed before I can sleep at night. I'm already on the hunt for the right XJR.

Hey there Ken, thanks for the referal. Greg was a really good guy and checked the car out. I have leak from the valve cover so he's going to fix that for me. I'm really glad as I really thought it was tranny fluid. The valve cover gasket doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. Thanks again
