Default New Dallas member doing research for 2011+ XKR purchase

Looking to buy my first jaguar, and have my sights on a 2011+ XKR. Unfortunately, my 1987 Porsche 928 was recently totaled, and this seems like a great transition to more modern cars while keeping the GT feel and driving feel I love.

Right now, I'm mostly trying to figure out expected maintenance costs, and what to look out for when shopping for these cars. I've had 3 jaguars in the family through my father, with an 95 XJ6, an 05 XK8, and now a 2010 XJ8. VP.

Any assistance with some useful links and resources is appreciated. Hope to become a participating member once I have found a car for myself.

Still trying to figure out how to edit posts...

Wanted to add what I'm already aware of.... mostly regarding water pump issues. Can anyone comment on one version of water pump being preferred over another? It seems that there have been many different versions made, so I'm curious if one version is more prone to failure vs another?

Thanks again for the assistance.

Also found out about TPMS issues and potential battery issues if the car is daily driven shorter distances.

Thanks very much for the reply! I'm currently looking at 10 open tabs from the X150 forum! This is a great resource.

No edit button right now... might be on a new member probation period before I can edit.

A question... I'm currently considering about 7 different models:

How would it be received to post links to the XKRs I'm considering in the X150 forum to see which one seems most appealing on paper to those members?

I don't have a car yet... as mentioned, I'm looking to buy one. Just updated the listings I'm currently considering. Thanks very much!

Probably the best thing to do is come out to SMU this Saturday 4/27 and chat with other XKR owners. Get all your questions answered in one place...
