New DFW Member
Hello All,
Just joined. The name is Mark. I'm an 80's BMW nut, but have always had a desire to own an XJ6. My Dad bought a SIII new and always liked it.
Well, I'm taking the plunge. I'm picking an 87 XJ6 VDP in FL at the end of the month and driving it back to Fort Worth. It's a one owner model that has been well looked after.... Most importantly, it is NOT a project! I've already got one of those, albeit a BMW.
I'm looking forward to meeting other DFW Jag owners. I saw a few threads on DFW meets earlier this year. If anyone knows of any planned meets for September or later, please point me to the thread.
I'll get some pics uploaded....
Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark, I'm also in DFW and also a German car nut with 10 Mercedes Benz in my car list ranging from 1970-1991. I'm also a secret BMW fan and ran an E30 318i with an M40 engine during my college days.
I'd like to some day get a Euro 635CSI to sit along side my Euro 560SEC and Euro XJ5.3C.
I hope to catch up with DFW Jaguar members sometime in September once the weather cools a little.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
alabasi - 10 MBs? Where do you find the time? I had a euro M635CSi for about 5 years. The euro e24s are great cars. I've converted my 87 535is to euro bumpers and headlights. Much nicer looking car.
vwtechnician - I've always wanted an e30. If memory serves me the 325 es is a desirable model.

I think most people prefer the higher revving higher power 2.5 in the later "is" cars vs the 5k redline 2.7 eta motor in mine. The s basically just means it has an LSD instead of an open dif. Love that car, though, it's my first bimmer. Up until about 2 years ago (when I bought the volvo, another superb car) I had only ever owned fwd VWs. I was long overdue to branch out and find some other rides. Love me some 80s euro goodness.

An M635CSI would be the perfect partner to my Euro 560SEC.

Thanks. Nice looking euro M6 you've got there. I loved mine when I had it, although I have to admit I like the e28 platform better. I currently have an 87 535is and 88 M5, although the M5 is on it's way to a new owner.
13 days till I pick up the XJ6!
