Hi all,

Richard here, some people thought I was the wrong demographic to be a jag owner In my late 20s but I've been a fan since I was a boy (Aston and ore makes too). I was always into classics with my first love being a mk2. However I only got into classic ownership through the two series 1 xj I have. I always thought people underrated these but I love them. I would like a series 1 xj v12 lwb on day. I'm a handy mechanic so I done the restoration work to-date myself but I've run out of time to get the best one finished for my wedding later in July14.

I ran a lovely x308 1999 v8 xj when I lived in America which I miss but only regret not having an xjr of around that period. May yet one day, as I still think the styling is great.

Not having a big pocket and really wanting an x350 v6 diesel (always takes me a but of time to get used to the new generation of xj - I'm only just starting to like the current xj lwb! Maybe I'm just antiquated) so I bought a cat D right off which had the rear end stoves in but on the plus side had a new engine fitted under warranty with just 20k miles. Spent a couple of nervous weekend getting it straight but she's been problem free and a really lovely car.

My fiancée will go to the wedding in my X350 but I regret not getting my series one done in time. As such I've just bought a cheap ish 1990 series three xj which just needs a bit of work.

Never was much of a fan of the later xj's or xj's, but I like e-types, the old and new S-types, mk2 and Daimler 250s. I think good 420s are starting to have a real charm, the older xj's not so much the newer ones and wouldn't mind a test drive in a f-type!

I think jaguar land rover are on the right path and never been producing better cars except under lyons.

All the best Rich
