Expat Brit having "swallowed the anchor." now living in New Braunfels TX.
Reluctantly sold my 1996 XJ6 with a mere 70K on the clock to a relation who fell in love with it at first sight, and who made an offer I just couldn't refuse; but fortunately soon found a 2001 XKR convertible with 29K to replace it.
My Jag experience includes driving my first, a 1938 SS in 1950, owned an XK 120 in 1953, was lucky enough to enjoy driving a 'D' type belonging to Duncan Hamilton on an airfield circuit in 1972/3, and had a lovely BRG XJ6 for 6 years.
Joined the Fleet Air Arm as an aviation cadet in 1949 for the Korean War and stayed for 27 years!
This was followed by 18 years as a Yachtmaster (Power and Sail) and after buying a 50ft sloop and cruising the Western Caribbean, transiting the Panama Canal and on up the coast to Puerto Vallarta, where we lived for 10 years, I retired from the sea for the 3rd time.
Didn't make a lot of money, but had a LOT of fun worldwide, and believe it or not, there is still "Life in the old dog (cat) yet!" Mac.

Welcome Mac
I'm still not sure how somebody from England ended up in Texas, but I'm sure you will make the most of it. I'm retired Navy and both my parents were in the service. My dad in the American army and my mother as a radio operator in the British army during World War II. Everybody on my mothers side were in the service except my aunt and she was too young. You should be able to find some nice roads in Texas to put your Jag on. It looks like you have been doing it a long time. Enjoy.

welcome platinum from another Texan! Just a bit north and a little more greenspace, but we're still neighbors! I think its fate that you were led to the sale of the previous xj6 to a relative and now you find yourself with an xkr... not as much interior room, but still an 'upgrade' in the overall sense of the word. Enjoy those twisty roads up there in the Hill Country!
