May 18,

Hello everyone.

Although I have already posted two or three "help" threads I hadn't been here yet.

Thanks to Doug I have already solved my flickering dashboard lights and gauges

Thanks to another member I think I am on my way to solve the Transmission flashing light problem.

A few words

I bought a week ago a gorgeous 1995 XJ6 with 89K and one owner.

This is not my first Jaguar by far. but it is my first "recent" one;

I have owned probably over 15 or 16 jags, from XK120's to XK 150S, several XJ's S1 S2 and S3, 2 x XJS and more.

Last time I had a Jag was an XJ V12 in 1991

Since then I had humpteen Alfa Romeo's, cadillacs and others;

In 1985 and 1986 I was President of the Belgian Jaguar Drivers' Club and in 1987 President of The jagaur Owners Club. we reinstated the famous XK120 world land speed record in Jabeeke in Belgium. whish since then a large yearly meeting.

Back in the early 70's I was general manager of a Jaguar/Lotus/TVR/MG/Triumph dealership (in the US)

I do all my own mechanical work but I am more than horrendous when it comes to car electrical systems and even worse if any king of upholstery or bodywork is involved. If I try to fix a dent the size of a dime, by the time I am finished with the job even a junkyard would refuse the car !

I have loved jaguars since I was a little boy (and that is a long time ago) and I am also an Alfa Fan.

I live in North Carolina in Durham area

We need to see more Jag and Alfa fans in the area ! ! !

Kind regards to all

Claude

Welcome Claude,

Great intro. 21 years between Jaguars is far too long!

Claude,

I'm 3760 miles away from Durham NC in Durham, UK.

I called it the the 'original' Durham because our Cathedral is over 1000 years old and the town was here a long time before they even started building that.

Hi there,

GGG so you are in the UK ! My dear wife was born in Guidford, near London. We still have lot of family in the UK.

If we were rich we would retire in the UK !

I was born in Belgium and lived many years on the French Riviera !

Do you do translations ?
That is my main occupation (www.websiteinfrench.com)
Unfortunately I do not have many pictures of my cars. In those days we did not take pictures of the cars.
I do have a few I have to dig out and I will post them soon

To everybody

Good to be on this forum. found already lots of help. Nice !

I have to tackle now a smell of gas and the interior lights not working on my 95 HK6 VDP

My son just bought himself a 2001 XJ8

But here in Durha&m (NC) area it does not seem to be a very active jguar group. We will see as time goes by

Cheers to all

Claude
