Hello! Been lurking for a while, but very glad to be here.
Got my first Jaguar a couple of months ago, a 2002 XJR 100 with 44,000 miles on it. It had been owned by a doctor in Los Angeles (he passed away last year). He was a massive F1 fan and Ferrari fanatic (owned a Daytona, I'm told), and took very good care of it. It's mostly been dealer-serviced, though before I brought it to NYC it had been sitting around for a while, so I've been blowing out the cobwebs here and there (sometimes literally).
I've always loved the Geoff Lawson rethink of the XJ design, and being around this one just makes me love it even more. It really is a special car, especially compared with its peers of the time. It truly is the last, greatest, three-box design.
I'm really nervous about curbing those BBS Montreals, but I was beguiled by the 100, so I'll just have to be really careful...
My first issue was with the driver's side power-seat module. (The seat would recline but wouldn't return.) But with help from the guys in the X308 forum, I pulled the module, found the problem, and will likely perform the dreaded circuit-board patch soon. We'll see how that goes! Next comes the saggy headliner...
Indeed, hanging out here has already paid for itself in headache prevention. Many thanks, and see you soon.
Mike

Ooo! It's BLACK! My Favorite!
Congratulations, Mike, on both acquisition of your 'new' Jaguar and your successful repairs!
At 44,000 miles it's just well loosened up; you should be able to get another 100K out of it Easily! That will give you loads of practice not curbing those Gorgeous rims!
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
