New to the forum and jaguars
hello everyone I am thinking of buying a 1996 xj6, it has about 10,000 miles on it, it has been garage kept since new and driven by a lady who is now 91 so I don't know if it has even hit 50 mph yet, I think I can get it for about 6k or less. I am trying to find out some info on what type of rims I can put on it, not that I want 22's or anything but the factory rims on it are not as nice as other jaguar rims, these look sort of granny like, also i am sure I need to upgrade the sound system, I want to have a radio with a USB and MP3 input, CD's are crappy once they are scracthed they are garbage. I am wondering what size rims can go on the car with out having to mod the suspension in any way, 17, 18, 19, 20? I just want it to look nice and give it some personality, it is already a beautiful car but the granny rims gotta go and i have no idea where to find info on what will fit, rim dealers will sell you anything they can regardless of if it will fit or not.

RE: New to the forum and jaguars
I really hope i get this car, this is a person I have worked for. Today i called her and she does still have the car and asked me if i wanted to buy it and I told her i did, she even remembered my voice at almost 91, she is an old jewish lady, like I said it is a very nice car, always garage kept, always, I really want to change the rims tho, I have looked at many jags and I have no idea why they would ever have put such ugly rims on any jaguar, I hope the guy who did it was fired promptly. I am looking at buying some after market more modern looking rims, I have been looking at a lot of pics of other jags, particulary the new ones and am wanting to get some rims that are atleast 17-20, that seems to be what is going on them now. I don't want it to look thugged out or anything that is why I am doing alot of research, I want an imitation of what is on cars now or a nice spoked rim, or something, not big ugly rims.
I will be so happy to get this car, I hope she will sell it to me for the price I want, i have kelly blue booked it at a private seller price of $6,300 but you can lovingly be ripped off by a dealership for about twice the price. I will never in my life ever buy any vehicle new, that is a total waste of money. I will be buying this car at a point when it is worth it's lowest in another decade it will increase in value if I maintain it well. I so can't wait.
i will post pics when I get it.
