New to Forum - New to Jag
Ok, I’ve been reading the forum for a month or so, soon after buying my 2004 2.5L X-Type.
I’ve already changed the front brakes and rotors using a guide posted here. Wow, surprisingly easy! I’ve also saved a lot of money thanks to advice found here about using RockAuto parts in Wisconsin and Gaudin Ford in Las Vegas.
I used to work on my American muscle cars and 4-wheel drive vehicles back in my teens and early twenties (engine rebuilds, mods, servicing, etc.) but gave it up for the past quarter-century. Decided recently to do some of my own car repair again after getting tired of dolling out too much money to mechanics with high rates and underperforming skills.
Been driving a number of Saabs for the past couple of decades and enjoy them, but no more of those being made. Have a fleet of used cars; would rather own a car outright and do some maintenance than have monthly bills for car payments.
I want to comment on how much I really appreciate the time people take here to help others. I hope I may find a way to also contribute in somehow.
- Shawn

Hello, Shawn,
You have obviously been lurking in our very active X-type section and discovered how helpful people in there are. Soon enough you'll be able to help out someone else with some problem or other that you're just recently had your fingers in so you can tell them all about it.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Shawn,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums and to hear you've been getting useful information.
I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
You can also visit the USA Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
