New Guy - '01 XK8
Hi!
Mandatory new guy post.
I just bought an '01 XK8 with almost 90k miles. Clean as a whistle inside and out, and I love it even though it has a few issues.
- Reverse 7-second beep, yay! One of the sensors is pushed in; I'll try popping it back into place before anything else.
- Convertible top raises and lowers just fine, but the pump keeps running. Going to check fluid level.
- As soon as I pulled up at home, "Electrical fault" lit up on the dash after putting the top up, and the pump continuing to run as above. I turned off the car and ordered an OBDII scanner from Amazon. Is it related to the top or the parking sensor? This is the fun of it, right?
It passed VA state inspection, but has to go for MD before I can get perm tags. Anyone got an inspection shop to recommend?
Anyway, HI!

Welcome to the forum Sam,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
You can also visit the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-mid-atlantic-65/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
