Welcome aboard! As you will find, the British are radically different than the rest of the world when it comes to building cars.

Welcome! I also was a german fan, and as is my whole family. My borthers all have german cars, and i thought id change it up with a britsh Jag. Got an Audi TT and an MKV GTI and an X-type in the family.
