New guy in Centennial, CO
Hello all!
New member recently burned out in the fire in Paradise, California, came here to Colorado to stay with my kids while we figure out what's next. Having grown up with Jaguars since childhood I felt that my insurance company could help take the sting out of our situation by getting us into a proper family motorcar. Lucked into a spotless 2015 XF Sport AWD with only 29K miles on the clock and three more years of warranty so took the plunge. Depreciation was my friend! What a delightful car!
I learned to drive on a 1960 3.4 saloon, and over the years we had a 1967 420 and then a '67 340 which I later bought from my mom, then finally a '71 4.2 E-Type I learned to drive stick on.The XF is of course totally unrelated to those earlier cars, but I see faint echoes of the 3.4 and 3.8 saloons in the styling and the moment I got in it I felt I had come home.
It's been 35 years since I sold off the 340 , I am very happy to be back in a Jaguar.Looking forward to seeing what new adventures life hold for us....You never know how quickly your circumstances can change completely so enjoy each day.

Hello, Paul,
I'm So glad you found a place to land while you heal from that fire. You probably know you're one of the fortunate to have a place to go even if it's out of state. And, that your insurance came through for you so you can at least buy a car.
That fire effected Many Thousands of us, one way or another, who were not directly in the fire's path. I wish you peace, and congratulations on your new Jaguar.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
