New guy near Seattle
My name is David and I picked up my 07 XK convertible last September. I was attempting some mid-life crisis management and went out looking for something fun without being impulsive. The main contenders were all convertibles; the F-Type, XKR, Aston DB9s, and Maserati Gran Tourismo. Of course all the others come with much higher specs on performance and I admire them all but ran across this 07 down near the Bay Area and pulled the trigger. She just looked so good sitting there... and my realistic side was telling me how nice it would be to not get my drivers license pulled. Also the fact the NA engine will gain some reliability points on reduced complexity and lower manifold pressures let alone the pressure put everywhere else down the drive line. Haven’t heard of anyone choosing an Aston or Maserati for reliability either, though, so there’s that.
So far, with judicious review of the Jaguar Forums, I’ve managed a differential oil change, transmission oil change, battery change, engine air filter, cabin air filter, valet key escutcheon, replaced the notorious aerial, and a dozen other little fixer up projects. This cars intent is just sunny top down driving and in the 1500 miles Ive put on her so far she has been 100 percent reliable. Well, I guess I would have to say the smart key has been 100% reliable on being fussy the first try of the day but always kicks over on the second try and works great the rest of the day.
I have found this XK to be a real nice balance between performance, usability, and good looks. I have never jumped on the throttle all the way but it still sounds terrific at all rev ranges and has plenty of get up and go for just enjoying a nice sunny day.
We used to have a BMW 650 which was a terrific car too. Another reason I went with the XK this time is they seem to be much more rare up here in the Northwest. Anyway, here she is:

Welcome to the forums David,
Good to have you with us. My last XK was a 2007 coupe and it was the most reliable of the many Jaguars I've owned in over forty five years. I hope your 2007 convertible proves to be the same.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the XK/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. You can also use the US Northwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northwest-64/ to find other members in your region.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
