New guy from Nebraska
Well here is a little about me... Name is Jeff and I am new to the Jaguar scene. I mainly have owned american domestics with most of them being made by GM. My main car passion has been in the 82-92 F-Body Camaros and Firebirds and I've owned around eight of them over the last 20 years. Currently I'm in the process of bringing a 1987 IROC back from the dead. I recently purchased a 1999 XJ8-L off of Big Iron, an online auction my company uses, and picked up the Jaguar this last Sunday in Iowa. Unfortunately the car's battery was completely dead from lack of use and I was unable to really check the car over before bringing it home. Now It's giving me all sorts of odd codes so I have come here to search for answers! Hopefully this forum is as awesome as my 3rd Gen Camaro forum, because those guys are the best!

Welcome to the forum Jeff,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Modern Jaguars MUST have a good, fully charged battery or they give all kinds of error codes. First step in troubleshooting has to be a reliable battery and a code reader. You will be very unlucky if most of the codes don't clear with a new battery fitted. Post any remaining codes in the X308 forum for help.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj8-xjr-x308-27/ to the X308 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Central Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-central-36/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I'll work on getting all of the avatar, signature, and other business stuff done as soon as I get home for the night.
As for my newly acquired XJ8 I will say that when it is actually running that it is a lot of fun to drive. I gave it a quick once over when I brought it home and have found that the MAF connector looks to have seen a bit of heat at some point and is melted a little on one side. There are also a few of the wires that have been wrapped in electrical tape, so I ordered a new pigtail off of Amazon that should be waiting for me when I get home tonight.
