new guy needing some help/advice
Hello all,
Okay, so I'm looking at getting a 94 XJ12, I've seen pictures of the car and it looks gorgeous, 71k miles, 1 owner, everything is beautiful. That said, my jag knowledge is severely lacking, I know about cars in general but nothing jag specific, hence why I am here. What are some common problems and what should I look for when I go to the dealer, any deal breakers, common problems, or any other pertinent information would be very much appreciated.
Thank you so much

An XJ12, huh? Nice.
Repairs aren't for the fainthearted...or thin wallets. :-)
But what a BEAUTIFUL toy!
You'll save yourself a bundle if you seek the advice of the sages on this site.
I have.

Welcome Sam:
With low miles and a solitary owner, I can only guess that this car has been well maintained, if not pampered. You should expect a complete vehicle repair history. Complete. The XJ12 is somewhat different from the XJ6 of the same vintage, but on our cars things such as differentials, head gaskets, rack & pinions, and climate controls can all be soft spots and not exactly inexpensive to repair. If not doing the work on it yourself, I'd be darned sure to find a good, recommended, independent Jaguar specialist in your area. They don't necessarily cost more, but they're harder to find than your average Dodge mechanic! You can do pretty well with parts as well thanks to the internet.
Happy hunting!
