Default New here

I have a 2004 Jaguar X-Type 2.5
I was driving a little aggressively and my transmission stopped working for lack of a better word. Its a manual transmission. In every gear the car doesnt seem to be in gear. Like its in neutral. Even reverse. The motor starts and runs fine just the transmission isnt pulling or engaging. I wasnt able to get the JTIM or whatever its called to work on my computer. I think i could do the repair myself if i had the instructions on removal of the transmission. Any thoughts on what i might have done? Any help with that or the removal process would be appreciated.

welcome to the forum, you will find plenty of info here - the best place to start would be the X-Type section - paying particular attention to the first few threads containing how to's downloads, etc.:

X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

You may want to check out the Southern Midwest regional section for local news/events of interest to you

Also recommend adding a signature to your profile by clicking the user cp link in the upper left. include model and year for best support

enjoy

Welcome to the forum knoxrandall,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you have already found your way to the X-Typoe tech section with the transmission issue so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

So i had my Jag towed to a shop anyway and they said it wasn't the clutch, pressure plate or throw-out bearing.. it is in the transfer case. does anyone know if or how they could know that? also i am thinking if that is correct, i will def try to replace it myself. i am having trouble finding a price on a new or rebuilt or just a used TC. Can anyone help with either problem? Thanks
