Good to have you with us.
Ask the experts in the tech section https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...k140-xk150-60/ but I think losing an arm or a leg is in your future if you really want one.
Take a look in your regional section also Western US - AK CA NV OR UT HI WA ID - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Welcome to the forum Louis,

Don't delay too long in getting hold of an XK120 or XK140. They aren't dropping in value and hands + legs cost this year could rise to a pact with the devil before too long.

Follow Norri's link to the XK120/140 tech section for help, advice and information.

Enjoy the search and the forum.

Default xk120

thanks so much...I'm actively looking. On some 120's I see a chromed, free standing windshield frame, while on others, the windshield frame seems painted and an integral part of the body. Does anyone know the difference between the two?

Thanks

Louis

Louis,

The original 1948 cars were coachbuilt in the traditional way but, owing to demand, switched to a quantity-produced pressed steel shell in 1950. This could explain for the windshield frame difference but ask the question in the XK120 / 140 / 150 section for information from members who own XK120's.
