Where do I start.. well I'm now middle aged, have a family of 5 (2 kids still at home.. newborn and 12yr), and have a love for cars. Always have. I'm a automotive engineer by day and a knuckle buster at night. I love to work on my own cars and am currently building a 800hp race engine formyLightning.OBD2 and PCM tuning doesn't scare me. (I use SCT pro racer for the Ranger and Lightning)

Our "family car" is currently a 2001 Caddy eldoand it's served us well. In the spring we areselling it to a relative and I'm strongly considering a 04-06 XJ8 for our 22-25k mile per year family duties. It'll be 75% freeway and 25% city driven. Winter tires for Nov-April too.

It's our intention to make a purchase in May. I know it's a bit out yet (6 mos), but I like to know all I can before the purchase. And it's when our financial plans will allow for it too.

It's funny, I was 15yrs old the first time I drove 100mph. I was behind the wheel of a green XJ6 and I've been love with them ever since. Fast fwd to now.. the 4.2L V8, 6speed, aluminum body, and lower prices of these 04-06 models have just pushed me off center of owning one. My wife isn't complaining either. Especially since it'll be "her car".
