Hello Jag Forum,
So I decided to sell the 04 S Type base, and I purchased an 07 S Type Sport Model 3.0 with 65k on the clock. The car is fully loaded with; Nav, ACM, Bluetooth, and recently Sat radio.
Everything was great until I developed the dreaded rear end whine in my differential. So I called the dealer and ordered the $4K in parts and scheduled the service. Altogether the repair bill was just over $4500.
You may say who cares??? Well the best part is that no one told me that the car was had an extended Jaguar warranty and that my local Jaguar dealership will cover 100% of the cost. The reason why I am bringing this up, is that if you recently purchased your car it may still be under warranty for this known problem. Have the dealer check your VIN!
If you have the service done they replace the axles, driveshaft, and differential. The new design is from the XF model and is greatly improved. It was the best $0 I have spent on this car.

Good advice on checking warranty. That goes a long way to recouping the $$ you poured into maintaining the '97 MB. ![Icon Lol](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
