New Jag owner in Florida!
Hey everyone! Here is the story...My wife has always wanted an XJ. She is a RN, and after a difficult 18 months with Covid, she finally found her car. I went to Indy and picked it up a couple days ago. 2001 XJ8 Vanden Plas w/93k. I have some mechanical skills, mostly reserved for American cars, but, I am ready to wrench. On the 800 mile ride home, I noticed every time I hit some bumps, it sounds like the suspension is falling off! Oh boy. Rode well on smooth roads. Crazy thing is, the sound traveled up and down the length of the car. Nothing, like exhaust, noticbly loose. Suggestions?

Welcome to teh Forums.
members in teh XJ8/XJR (X308) Tech section will have answers. The "stickies' at the top of that section would be a MUST read in my opinion.
This is NOT the Tech section, BUT, 20 year old rubber components are getting past their use by date, shocker bushes, etc etc.

I had that same model and the suspension should absorb all the bumps. Two regular issues are front Upper Wishbone bushes and rear 'A' Frame bushes. Check the model forum for further information.
