New Jag Owner Here
Hi all. I just took ownership of my late grandfather's most prized possession; his 1975 XJ6C. He owned it since new and drove it daily up until earlier this year. He had it converted to Chevy power in 1979. It's the car that brought me home from the hospital 35 years ago. It's a part of the family really, which is why I bought it from my dad and uncles. To keep it in the family. And I consider it to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
Anyway, it does have its issues, but minor ones that can be addressed as time and $ permits.
That's all I got for now.

Welcome to the forum,
You clearly share your late grandfather's passion for the XJ6C.
The Coupe is both a beautiful and a rare vehicle. There can't be many who are driving the very same vehicle in which they made their first ever journey.
Looking forward to seeing pics.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature. This makes it easier for others to help you.

Graham: I will post a pic soon. In the meantime I have put some details in my sig.
Wayne: He had a shop in Gardena, Ca do the conversion in 1979. It was originally a 305/TH350 combo. In 2006 he replaced the 305 with a 350 and put 20k miles on it since then.
He recorded every service, overhaul, repair, etc. in a journal he kept in the glove box (it goes back to 1988). Mechanically (engine, trans, steering, suspension), it's a 6 year old car. The current issues it has now is the driver's door (sags, lock cylinder doesn't work, arm rest partially detached from door panel), A/C (blows cold but weak, windshield fogs up in any weather condition) and a few other interior bits and pieces. Oh, and I definitely plan on ditching the TH350 transmission and installing a 700R4.
I'm not planning on restoring it. It's in great shape for its age. I just plan on preserving it and enjoying it.

I had an XJ6 4.2 saloon when the XJ6C was current in the 70's but the Coupe was really the one I wanted! If I remember correctly, sagging doors was an issue very early on with the Coupe due to the extra weight of the longer door.
