Default New Jag owner in Utah

Been wanting my own Jaguar for years. My dad has had an XK140 and an XJ6 so now I'm continuing the tradition with a 2006 XJ8.

Very excited to pick up my car this Tuesday. It is a low-low miles garage queen and I've waited a long time to find one and here it is.

I work in Las Vegas and live in Cedar City so I commute to Sin City on Mondays and return on Fridays. This car will make the trip oh-so-lovely. There is nothing like big Nevada highways and a beautiful driving car (except for a great motorcycle).

Looking foward to the Forums and hoping to enjoy my second British toy (first being a Triumph motorcycle). Words of wisdom appreciated.

Thanks so much.

John

John - welcome to the forum and the Jag family - check out the XJ8 section for info and support to keep that cat purring. This is a great place and a great tool for the Jag owner. Enjoy

Welcome! I am in Cedar HILLS, Utah (northern Utah County). Acquired a 2005 S-type 4.2 VDP two months ago. It belonged to my late dad, who, incidentally, grew up in Cedar City. Beautiful area you live in. My dad got his first Jag in 1972 or '73, an XJ12 Series I. In 1985 or '86, he got an XJ Vanden Plas (4.2 six - not the V12 many other markets got in the VDP or Daimler Sovereign). He bought the 2005 S-type in September 2004. All his Jaguars have been red.

Enjoy those long 175-mile commutes in the XJ8 - it will be a fantastic road car.

I'm really enjoying this car, thanks, Steven! You are right, this is a beautiful area in S. Utah but I enjoy all of Utah even up north. I get up to Ogden quite often. The Jag is more car than I had imagined... nothing I've owned comes close.... but I did have to buy a spare key to the tune of $516.. ouch.

Hoping my Indy here in Cedar will treat me better price-wise than Gaudin in Vegas. I'll have to admit, though, the treatment you get at Gaudin is top-notch... different experience than Honda for sure. Ride on!

Taking the wife to LaReve at the Wynn for Mother's day tomorrow. Nothing like Valet with the Jag. )
