Thumbs up New xk owner from northern california

After years of owning Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, and Infiniti autos I found a 2008 Jaguar XK in N. California. It was not an easy task because, as you may know, the brand is still considered a boutique auto manufacturer.

I believe the Jaguar XK is the last of a breed of European and British grand touring sports cars now available at a reasonable price.

I look forward to driving the XK in N. California because it is so much more comfortable to operate than my Porsche 911, Mercedes E Class, BMW 5 or Infiniti G37 coupe autos I have owned in the past.

In the first week of owning the Jag I received many compliments I could not believe it. It's a nice feeling when someone says something positive about your car instead of the usual silent look of envy or disgust.

Thanks for reading this introduction and I look forward to learning more about the Jaguar brand from the people in the trenches who actually own and operate them.

CHEERS!

Welcome!
Although not from Cali, I run to Ukiah yearly to visit family. You are blessed to have Hwy 36 (Redbluff to Fortuna) just north of you! It is one of the highlights of my drive south each year in my XK!

And yes, the compliments to your XK will not stop. In fact they can start to get annoying because in traffic you expect a fast car to pass you, only to have them slow, and hang on your rear quarter-panel gawking at your car...

Ahh the burdens we must bear...

Again welcome to a great forum and a great car!

-Vince

Welcome.

Nice ride, compared to what you once had.

The comments are nice, and I only hear them towards Jaguars, and never toward Mercs, BMW's etc, so we are an elite mob.

Curious to know how many miles on your XK?

Thanks,

John

Default Welcome to Jaguar Forums

Welcome John ... and greetings from a fellow enthusiast in Australia.

The XK8 is a great drive and I also encourage you, as per links posted by others, to jump over to the XK8/XKR model specific section where there is plenty to read and absorb ... also, to visit the regional section shared by other members in your area ... and finally, if you haven't yet done so, to add your car details to your signature as a permanent flag to enable other members to offer accurate advice ... from Main Menu, click <User CP> then <Edit Signature>.

All that remains is to dive into the forum ... and enjoy!

Best wishes,
Ken

John,

A late 'Welcome' to Jaguar Forums from me. I've been away driving my Jaguar across Europe and had no internet access.
