Default New to Jags - About to do a 350 SBC Swap in a '99 XJ8

Hey guys! I'm new to Jaguars! So hopefully you guys can help me out with some of the nuances of the marque as I embark on this crazy engine swap.

Had a guy contact me about doing the swap. Told him it was doable based upon the small amount of research I did. I guess the hard part will come when it comes time to deal with the Jaguar's electronics. Not sure how the integrate as far as the engine, tranny and interior goes (guages, etc.). Hoping that it won't be a killer.

Anyway, just wanted to stop here first and say "hello" to everyone.

Before you jump in too far, you might want to check your local laws to determine if that car still has to pass emissions in your state. Where I am, anything older than a 96 is okay.

Welcome to the forum.

Why not go really crazy and stick in an LBZ diesel?

Thank you guys...though I should have said that the Jag actually belongs to a "client" of mine who is also a member here.

I have noticed that there is a TON of info here and have already learned a TON about a pretty cool car. And the thing looks so out of place next to my Honda Civic and Accord and my Pro-Touring S10... Basically I'm saying the car is a cut above!!

I'm just glad to see that there are plenty of open-minded guys here that are willing to help out - even with such an unorthodox swap.

That was my first thought since I'm here in a smog-crazy city (metro Atlanta)...but the guy lives in Florida and apparently they're not too stringent about it.

Moreover, we're about to change the swap to an LS version of the motor which will pass any and all emissions (except maybe Califorinia stuff) so we should be good to go either way.

Thanks for throwing that out, though!
