New to Jaguar forums, XKR'er
Hi all!
I've been reading and following your superb forum for many years. My last car was a X type and for the last three years have been a proud owner of a 2001 XKR which has been heavily modified using all the information shared on your forum.
This is my first time on any forum and up until now believed I had nothing of any value to add.
Hopefully I can now give back a little to the XKR'ers that have given me so much enthusiasm.
Just a quick intro:
My car threw off the crankshaft supercharger pulley(on the autoroute in France) and destroyed the end of the crank. I wrote to one of the forums members for advice, directly. Five months later we now have quite a project and is just about ready to be put back on the road.
Again, huge thanks to all the posters and moderators for such a great site.
Sincerely,
Colin.

Hi Guys,
Thank you for the kind welcome.
Hopefully my signature section is now filled in and working. I'm now starting to get the hang of how a forum works.
The engine was scrapped because of the cost of rebuild in the south of France. I contacted Avos for some advice and I now have a new 4.2 engine with full Avos upgrade kit plus cams and anything else that he suggested. Andre very kindly offered to do the whole project personally himself. I'm still blown away at his kindness. As a captain I am so limited to the time I have available.
I have donated the old engine to Jeff in Tucon to help with his Avos project, so our fingers are crossed that that all works out.
Jeff also asked if I could share the end of this project with the rest of the XKR forum, so that's why I have joined.
Our home is in the old village of Grimaud in the gulf of St Tropez. It is quite nice. But we tend to live at work in Mallorca, Spain and travel the whole of the Med for summer. Again, it is quite nice.
I'll do a project summary on the XKR section when I get time.
Big thanks,
Colin.

Big thanks, plus a photo!
Hi Jim
Huge thanks for the direct access. I have been so frustrated for such a long time about not being able to access soooo much information, this is a bit like Christmas to any Jag enthusiast. Cheers.
Hopefully attached is the first photo of the car rolled out of Andre's garage with the new brakes and wheels on, but still not finished. I'm trying to keep it as standard looking as possible.
Catch you soon,
Colin.
