New Jaguar Owner
I'm new to the Jaguar world. I recently bought a 1973 XKE Series 3, 2+2. It is being shipped to me and will arrive sometime next week. The car sat in a heated environmentally controlled warehouse for 25 years. It has just 23,208 miles on it. I was the highest bidder in a Hemmings auction and got it for a bargain price. The previous owner is extremely rich and has over 40 cars in his collection mostly European and British cars. He told me he had 15 RR's. Also, he indicated he was a personal friend of Jay Leno. I wondered about all that but a representative of a shipping company that I talked to said, yes, he's well known to many in the Boston collector car community. The car is running and drivable. The interior, though dingey, is original and in decent shape. It needs a repaint BAD!
About me I'm a retired draftsman. Combat Combat-wounded veteran. My wife of 49 years died of breast cancer in 2019. I needed a hobby to keep me busy. I have 2 other collector cars I bought within the last couple of years, an excellent driver condition 1957 Ford Thunderbird and an excellent 1930 Chrysler Series 70 Roadster.

Someone on the auction site noticed the valve covers are from a 1971 motor. Maybe ?
Original interior.
I have always loved the shape and lines of the XKE cars. Actually, I fell into my XKE ownership. It was Hemmings auction, and on a whim, I submitted a ridiculously low bid, and it was accepted. Totally floored me.
My first question is where can I find a kit so as to replace those huge black government mandated bumpers?
