Default New Jaguar owner - I'm a Jagaholic already

Hey there 4 wheel peeps, My name is Nick from Alameda California. I just bought my first Jag. I must say that initially I was but moderately interested. It began as a "theory" or some kind of mid life crisis strategy. But once I got my wife a new BMW i300 I needed somewhere to dump all that gas I saved. Then I read somebody's post about how the Jag was such a huge car for the dollars...

So what was only a twinkle in my eye a mere 30 days ago, is now a new life adventure. Oh yeah, I love dropping this XKR into 3rd gear on the fwy and punching the gas to the floor. Holly crap! Anyway it's like I dropped 20 years off my life. Sorry if I'm offending any of you older more established gentlemen, but I've never owned a car like this. I'm in love on Valentines day.

Anyway, it's only been a week since purchase, and my affection grows daily. This is the most incredible thing on wheels I have ever owned and here are the deets:

This black beauty is a 2001 XKR with 125k miles. I paid 8k from a Brit who really took care of this cat. It's got a secondary timing chain tensioner, Eurotek stage 2 supercharger upgrade, ECM remap and cross drilled front rotors with Akebono euro-ceramic pads, and, the upgrade that sold me immediately....McLeod X-pipe custom stainless exhaust. Holly ****! Stainless steel exhaust?! It doesn't get any better than that.

Anyway this is all new to me, I'm an old motorcycle junkie but since I had kids I had to leave that behind. My new and only salvation is this Jag. So tell me how to keep it in top shape and get the most out of it.

Oh, I cram my kids into the back seat, folded in 1/2 and they are all smiles!...hehe

That is all for now.
Nick

Hello, Nick.
I've read about this 'mid life crisis,' but it must be a guy thing.

Welcome to the forum. My mid life crisis must have started early since I have owned a string of inappropriate motorcycles. I believe in driving/riding what you want, not what you should

Welcome.

You are now "buggered" as we say in the real country.

The BM will soon make way for Jag #2, and then the fun begins.

Welcome Nick
Sounds like you found a peach.
I've found that children fold nicely until they hit their teen years.
