New to Jaguar ownership
Greetings all. Being a car-guy with a lot of experience on other make-specific forums, I breached decorum and went straight to the XK pages and introduced myself with a couple of posts... Let me rectify that and complete the process. I'm 58 years old, married for 35 years to my one and only, we have one college-age son. For almost 16 years, we were DINKS and indulged ourselves with cars, boats, houses, etc. Then came parenting and responsibility. I've still been able to indulge a bit in the cars, having had 42 cars since I turned 16. All of them sports or performance cars or 4X4s and SUVs (not same thing... to me, a 4X4 is an off-road vehicle ala Bronco, Blazer, Scout, Wrangler... an SUV is my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee (though it is a very capable off-road SUV). We are currently living in Seattle (only until my son graduates) but I'm a native Floridian with a life-long passion for convertibles in particular. I have room in my life (wife limits... (happy wife, happy life)) for one garage-queen car, and I recently traded my sole-owner 2014 BMW Z4 28i with 20K miles for a one-owner 2012 XK with 19K miles. The car is absolutely pristine, with the exception of some door-edge chips (the original owner is 80-something years old) It did have a water pump replaced, to my recollection at 14K miles. I'm really thrilled! Love the car. I feel, more appropriate for my age (I've been through 'Vettes, Camaros, Mustangs, and M3s). I contemplated getting an F-Type, but I like the convenience of the back seat to store things within reach and not in the foot wells. Maybe if they restore the back seat, or just a package shelf in the F-Type I'll look at those down the road (but I don't really like the back end)... anyways, enough of that! Thanks for reading!
