New Jaguar XJ6 owner
Hi All,
Just picked up a 1996 XJ6 today. Seems like it's solid mechanically but does need a bit of TLC, and as the former owner said, it looks good from 20 feet.
It's going to need a paint job, after the other issues are addressed.
My gearhead background includes 26 years of racing in SCCA in the Spec Racer Ford class. (1985-2010) I'm presently involved in a very long term restomod project of a 1971 MGB GT. I belong to the Fox Cities British Car Club in Wis. What a great bunch that club is! Looking forward to picking lots of brains and enjoying the car!

Welcome to Jaguar Forums
Welcome Bob ... and greetings from fellow enthusiasts in Australia.
The XJ6 will be an interesting and very rewarding partnership to kick off your love affair with Jaguar. In particular, the dohc six XK based engine is a piece of beautiful engineering, but also home to some quirks. To ease the learning curve, you will find plenty of resources, advice and shared friendship here ... from the forum's main menu, jump over to the model specific XJ6 section where there is plenty to read and absorb.
I also encourage you to visit the regional section shared by other members in your area ... local and regional events are second only to the advice from fellow members of recommended service providers in your area.
Finally, if you haven't done so, please add your car details to your signature as a permanent flag to enable other members to offer accurate advice ... from Main Menu, click <User CP> then <Edit Signature>.
All that remains is to dive into the forum ... and enjoy!
Best wishes,
Ken
