Hi everybody!
I am the CrazyCatLady- not because I've got tons of cats (well, I have one, to be fair), but because I'm crazy about Jags! I just bought my first Jaguar on Tuesday (the 4th), and I'm very excited. It is a 2005 XJ8 L, and it is just gorgeous. Couple minor issues here and there (part of how I found this forum was looking for the answers to some questions), but otherwise, I'm in love. Made a pretty big jump up- I was still driving my very first car when it died (I've had it about 3 years now) and that was a 2001 Ford Escape XLT. I'm quite pleased with the new kid in the parking lot, to be sure! I'll grab some pictures tomorrow in the daylight and show it off.
A few things about me- I'm in my 20s, born and raised in Massachusetts, full time job, full time college, second job, musician, opera singer, children's book illustrator, and lover of all things quirky and/or geeky. I'm a car-appreciator, in that I love driving cars and learning about cars, but I haven't had the opportunity to really get my hands dirty and work on any cars, but I'm hoping to get some good experience somewhere along the line and be able to do my own service- though I may not practice on the Jag.
Glad to be here, and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

Welcome to the forum, CrazyCatLady (love that moniker)! My daughter drives an '06 XJ8 Vanden Plas that she's had for a few years now and it has been very reliable. She loves it. I just got an '06 XK8 coupe after almost 40 Jagless years so our family is growing.
I note that part of your head-spinningly busy life you are a children's book illustrator. I am a sometimes artist myself and think illustrating children's books is one of the finest artistic pursuits. A fellow colored pencil scribbler who is a children's book illustrator is Paula Pertile of Sacramento, CA. Google her. I love her work and would love to see some of yours. I currently have no website for my art as chintzy Comcast took away our website privileges.
