New to Me 1997 XK8 Convertible - New Member
Hi All,
First let me say thanks for having a great forum for me to join.
I just purchased my first Jag after years of attraction to the styling. Thought it was time to learn a little about the XK8 by buying one and getting up close and greasy together, don't tell my wife as she is already jealous. Overall good car for its age and I think with a little time and care it will be a great top down drive. I have always had a thing for convertibles since my first car cool ride that was a little green 68 MGB, moved to a 68 corvette convertible of course these were just 10 year old cars back then, and have had a couple of Saab convertibles and a Jeep along the years. Recent years been riding a two wheeler again. This time I wanted to get something that had some real power and wanted something with a more refined drive than an old corvette. So when this opportunity came along I just couldn't stop myself.

Congratulations on your First Jaguar!
Tell your wife:
a) she'll always know where you are (in the garage),
b) she could have Real reason to be jealous even if you give the car a girl's name!
There's no better way to learn the secret things about a car than to get greasy with it.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum TexMurphy,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link US Southwest - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
