Default new member '10 XK coupe in SC, gas gauge issue

This is a 1st post from a life long Jag fan-

Bought a '61 MKII sedan in 1969 at the age of 19, then luckily found a very fine '67 BRG E-Type coupe in '79 which I owned for over 40 years, wife just sold her '94 V-12 XJS convertible and now we have a 2010 XK 5L/385hp coupe with about 62K miles on it. Love the look, ride and roar of it. Unfortunately found a new problem yesterday:

The gas gauge continues to incorrectly read "full" after 100 miles of stop and go driving. Did try to shake the "sender unit" loose by driving over bumps and hard turns to no avail. It won't budge. Does anyone have any helpful ideas?

Glad to be on the forum- Wayne

This is our XK (plate reads "NICEKITY") with our classic golf cart

Sad day, after over 40 years "PURR" goes away

Welcome to the forums Wayne,

Some great Jaguars you've had and have.

Because it's a saddle fuel tank, there's two senders. I haven't had problems with this on my XK's but do recall other members with this model have had to troubleshhot the issue. Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-x150-33/ to the X150 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Hello, Wayne,
We have a couple other members who are Life-Long Jaguar owners, you might meet one of them right here.

Hi Steve- I let my BCCC membership lapse as we considered selling the E-Type and XJS (sad what the sea air getting in through the garage louvers was starting to do to them here in the lowcountry) Hopefully the XK will bear up for better. I will rejoin BCCC if they will let me.

A+ wayne
