Hello. I have a 1999 Jaguar XJ8. I love, love the car. I haven't had much trouble at all but also do not have a Jag mechanic in my town. Lately I have been getting some messages and then some trouble yesterday that brought me to the forum. I live in Abilene, Texas and while there is a mechanic here that will touch the car, I am not familiar with him. I have minor things like one of my windows won't roll down and the back window light assembly came apart so I am wondering if it isn't time to go with something else. I would like to drive it until it just can't go anymore.

With help from members in the X308 forum here (X308 is the factory code name of your 1999 XJ8), you should be able to resolve those issues and keep your car on the road well past 250,000 miles.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
