Just to say Hi from Ontario Canada. HAD a 91 XJS that needed head gaskets after a great 5 years. Took the heads off ( Kirby was right , copious amounts of penatrating oil) Distributor problems, beyond me, sold it. Went Jagless for 3-4 months and almost died. Limited amount of funds from my inhouse banker, since my last Jag investment went south, so I found a 96 XJS in Sask. Canada, north of ND for the right price. Headed out in the middle of Winter to Sask. truck and trailer and get my new Jag. Working on getting it safetied, but looks like output shaft bearing is required, but Yari's post helps with that.
Thanks Forums

Ah, Yes, those In house Bankers can be quite parsimonious after a failure of that magnitude, Snowball. I hope you have more success with your current project.

Welcome from ElinorB.
