Hello Everyone !! First and foremost I would like to say thank you, I appreciate and admire the community that I have found here and the willingness to help each other.

Basics About Myself, my name is Rj and I am from California's Bay Area.
I am a young full time college student and I work full time, just balancing the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I am constantly reading and gathering information that has been so generously provided by the community here.
I have a 2005 Jaguar S-type 4.2 N/A with about 104,--- miles, I purchased the car a few days prior to turning 18 and receiving my license and I have joyfully driven her as my daily driver since. I worked, waited and saved for two years for my first car to be a Jaguar and I am still very much in love with my car to this day.

After years of observing I would like to participate and contribute in the few ways I can. I have recently began planning repairs and maintenance and wanted to post the pictures to help others in the DIY process for the visual learners like myself. So once again Hello and thank you,

Welcome to the forum, pretty cool first car. My first car cost $60 in 1983(you don't want to know what it was).
I had to have 30 odd cars before I got Jaguar.

Welcome.

My first car was a Jaguar, waaaaay back in Dec 1967, a MK7 manual, all for $300, which was 3 weeks wages.

Those S Types are simply awesome.

Keep up the maintenance, listen to the car, and if it sounds odd, it probably is, and a QUICK time sort of that oddity will always save you heaps of $$. Leave it till "later", and pay the ferryman, as they say.

Welcome to the forum Rj,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you already know your way to the S-Type the tech section so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Looking forward to your DIY posts.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Im quite intrigued to know what car was obtained with 60 bucks, hell after growing up some id buy a 60 dollar car and showboat my haggling skills lol.
Definetely a fantastic first car well worth all the hard work and self control not to spend the money I was saving for it.

They are amazing machines, we set the bars pretty high for any replacement or substitute cars. Three weeks ?? If I was able to acquire one within three weeks it wouldnt have lasted very long in my destructive and devious hands

Thank you Graham I have the s-type forum bookmarked on my phone, tablet and laptop. The forum is always a good read full of interesting knowledge and great people,

I am a little nervous about posting diys but ill gain confidents, after reading so many excellent posts here its a little intimidating,

As a seasonal surveyor from the stands of a gladiators arena, stepping foot inside and partipating is a new world or nervousness and challenge. Lol just my random babble
