Just bought my 97 XK8 Vert. I'm a little thin on top so I got a good sunburn last Saturday but it was worth it. Currently practicing the proper pronunciation of jag-U-ar. A co-worker ignorantly said she heard that I bought a Corvette and she was immediately put in her place. Its got a few aftermarket do-dads on it but my intent is to keep it original. Found a set of genie wheels. Going to mount a set of 235/55R17s that I found (can afford).
I saw one of these cars about 8 years ago and had an automotive orgasm. Never thinking I could actually own one. Up to now I've been an RX7 fan and my next splurge was going to be a Miata. I am a counselor and one of my clients shared my appreciation of XK8s. We often compared notes of our most current on-line searches. One day last summer he didn't show up for his appointment and I later discovered he had died. That pretty much made up my mind of what I had to do - and no Miata either. So that's my story. Joe
