Hi everyone, I'm Dan from Pennsylvania. My wife and I purchased our first Jag, a used one from a private couple. It is a 2003 X-Type and so far we are very pleased.

Welcome to the forum Dan,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I've moved your other post about the audio issue from
Jaguar Forums Advice / Feedback & Suggestion Center to X-Type forum. Members there with the same model will be able to help. Here's a direct link to it:

The

Follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the main X-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Hi, my name is Charlie. I have a blue 2008 convertible XK. My previous jaguar was a 1962 Mark II. In 1974 I was one of the founders of the Jaguar Club of Austin. So far I am moderately pleased with the XK. I bought it slightly used with 3,000 miles on it. It is a Sunday driver, so it only has around 20,000 miles on it now. Our other car is a RX 350.

I also have a sailboat and 1957 Chris Craft 18' Continental with a Chevy marinized 283 4v. I like to say that I have TOO boats. They occupy much more time than the Jaguar.

I have had some of the same problems outlined in these forums: excessive brake dust (unresolved), blinking out display (unresolved, although the dealer did nail me for $110 to reprogram), rear window glass disconnecting from soft top. (Resolved, dealer said it could not be fixed and I would need a new $4,800 top. A local shop, Mario's, glued it back in for $200, so far so good. Mario did advise me to treat the soft top with waterproofing to deter shrinking. Used Sunbrella 303). It will probably need a new battery soon. Other than that stuff, a beautiful car that is fun to drive.
