Aloha,
My name is Tatak and I just joined. This is my second XJ; a 1981 with a 305sbc out of 87 Monte Carlo, BM TH350 transmission. My first was a 72 series I with a 400 cu.in. Corvette, TH350. Fell in love with that one even though I had to put sheep skins on the leather cause it was all cracked. Most of the woodwork was still very nice and thanks to my mechanic trained in Bulgaria, he was able to keep the electrical systems running by substituting other Lucas parts available from junk yards using MG, VW parts like windshield wiper motor etc. My new daily driver is exquisite. New glass, new interior, 3000 mi. on the newly rebuilt engine bored .30 over. Brand new BM TH350 transmission. Just installed an electric fan to help with cooling when stuck in traffic. Still keeping the crank driven fan to help keep the temp under the bonnet under control. Car rides like your smooth surfing a small wave, doesn't lean when making a stiff turn and new rotors and calipers up front and new rotors and calipers in the middle of the rear. Love driving this!
