Hello, Firstly Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all. My name is Frank Wood I live in Warrington . U K.I am a transport refrigeration engineer, previously a time served plant fitter. Cars- 4x s types. 2003 se x2 ,2004 sport, and 2007xs. two of those are for spares and two on the road.
one se 2003 was purchased in2005, is used day to day and has done 100,000 miles. two months after we had her she required a new torque converter under warranty as the engine was surging over 40 mph. I have replaced the battery, screen washer motor and header tank myself with no other issues. The 2007 was purchased two years ago with two issues. Namely, the passive alarm kept waking up the neigbors so I disconnected the plug which resolved it with no effect to the rest of the alarm system. secondly, the headlamps kept flashing on and off on dipped beam and sometimes going off altogether. for this I had to switch to auto and back to rectify this. After reading your forum I replaced the stalk and since then no Issues. "Thank you members". this prompted me to try to become a member. I bought the spares cars after saving up at reasonable price to upgrade my xs 2007 with folding mirrors and to tinker with. I purchased jlr 134 software from off the net, fitted folding mirrors and configured them and they work fine. My next project is fitting a memory drivers seat to my original seat. " a bit more complicated" from parts from my spare cars. Thank you one and all.
