RE: NEW MEMBER
hello there .... well .. thats the dilema Im having ......I have access to all the xjr suspension ......just not sure where to go .....I have 110k on it now and have this annoying noise in the back .. each time I go in reverse or take off you hear like a slight knock ... similar to what the front strut bushings do when they where out .. I was thinking about koni shocks but being that I also have 8 rx7's .. if I want a bumpy ride then Im covered ....are the xjr shocks and springs just stiffer ?? would you know if the xjr's sit any lower than a stock xj6 ?? Im doing the complete bushing kit for the front all ready and just trying to decide where to go with the shocks ....well,sorry about all the questions ....new on this site ... just got into the whole jag thing and quite enjoying it .... smooth ride indeed ...... thankx

You're welcome to ask the questions and I will try to requench your thirst to the best of my knowledge but keep in mind , I am not an expert nor guru lol
Well, bushings are cream puff job to replace .As to riding comparison your ride vs XJR , I have made this comparison quite a few times and yes your XJ6 rides like a dream but XJR is just firmer however not harsh .Also, XJR has 17" rims and different size of wheels just wider and they also make riding firmer .
XJR is lower to XJ6 by just 3-4 centimeter as I recall.
If you want smooth ride then stick to your stock XJ6 components that's my recommendation and never and ever don't get any bigger rims .

RE: NEW MEMBER
hello again .... well as far as wheels ............ I had to do the 18 xjr ....they just look so good and really make the car stand out ........also have a set of the 17 xjr wheels for winter use .......would you recommend then just stock oem shocks ?? or any aftermarket replacements ?? I have read somwhere that the aftermarket s are no where near as good as stock oe ....but unsure .. I have seen kyb's,booge, billstien, konis so far .. I can only imagine the konis will stiffin it up .....whats your take on that??? as I said before .. I have complete access to an xjr suspension swap if need be or stock low mile stuff as well ..................... but I must say, after getting into the jag stuff Im having a great time learning, messing around with stuff ........... done it before with the rx7's ......... now just a new breed to me ......always up for learning from as many as I can .....thankx

I had 17" XJRrims in my ride .(Pirelli 255 50R17 as I recall ).Those tires were so stiff that I had to get back to stock Daimler rimswhich were 16" . 18" rims are badass ,I have to say but if a comfy riding is a concern I wouldn'tuse them . I had 20" rimsin my 'ladethe ride quality was so stiff and bouncy to my taste.
Well, it's mainly up to you if you love a bir firmer ride , you can go for it so it's all personal taste . As to the aftermarket suspension , when my old XJ40 had some troubles with the hyraulic system , I tried to switch to Koni but my Jaguar Specialist didn't approve myintention on it .SoIheld back the idea .
Anyway, don't use aftermarket stuffs ,oem ones always give you better quality even though it's way expensive .Don't forget you get what you pay for and it majorly works in automotive industry .
Jaguar is a different class and on its own so don't try to put RX7 and Jaguar in same boat . You can modify RX7 as much as you want but Jaguar is not a car that to be pimped

yea,I agree with you get what you pay for ........I do agree that jag in its own oem way probably has far superior quality in oem parts than others ....by all means not comparing the 2 breeds ... I took on the jag cause I always like the look ... had driven a few in the past and enjoyed the comfort of just cruising in luxury ....sports cars are sports cars ... luxury is luxury ........... guess Im going to go with some low mile oem shocks for the rear then at this point .... think 40k should be much better than 110k .....with with general uhp (think thats what they call em) tires on the 18's ...didnt notice much difference that 17's ... very quite tire ......well,thankx again for the info ... keep ya posted .....

Welcome Maz! What RX's do you own? All FB's FC's FD's or some of each? The FD is my dream car! My best bud has an FC and we enjoy taking his RX and my 240sx out drifting! Super fun! Any pics of both the Jag and the RX's? Welcome aboard and looks like Cadi took good care of your questions!
