Greetings from Los Ranchos, New Mexico.
I currently own a white 2005 Xj VDP. Purchased over 10 years ago. Currently has 109,000 miles. Love the car. Interesting that this Jag is insured by Hagerty as a collector car (it is not my daily driver). You might check them out.

I have owned a number of Jags over the years. The most frustrating was a 1988 or 89 Hess & Eisenhart XJS convertible, two gas tanks and all. I tried every modification to get rid of the gas fumes to no avail. Every time I fired it up I thought (hoped) it would go up in flames. Rarity has its drawbacks,.

Besides the XJ8 I have a wonderful 1974 Jensen Intercepter that you can actually drive anywhere/any day, a 1980 fuel injected Rolls Royce Silver Shadow that is a beautiful problematic car I adopted 15 years ago. I have a weak spot for English cars for some unknown reason.

I had a great Jaguar dealer for years that I trusted and never tried to sell me a new car. All replaced parts were guarranteed for as long as I owned the car. Unfortunately they sold out to the Land Rover dealer earlier this year and then the Land Rover dealer sold out to another company that I don't think likes older Jags. Oh well - nice while it lasted.

I have eaves dropped on you forum for a number of years to get an answer to a problem. Thought I better join the club.

Hello, Ken,
I've discovered that most dealers, of any make, don't like to deal with anything over about 7 years old. And anything over 5 years old that they take in on trade goes out to the next wholesale auction.

That's why this place is such a good idea; we can get help for our positively Ancient cars and keep them purring.

Your collection fascinates me for some reason. Good Job!

Welcome to the forums from Elinorb.
