The car has been in the family since the mid 90's and been kept under cover in a carport all of its life. Although regularly "serviced" she was not really maintained. The original owner has not needed a car (or anything else, for that matter) for 8 years and I have been overseas a large majority of that time.
After a three year break an overly optimistic engine start has indicated she has finally got fed up with being ignored and a quick compression test (throttles closed) produced number ranging from 95, a couple of 130-135's to and a single 150
Clearly it's time to pull the head
Cosmetically she appears very good with the only faults being simple things like the plastic to the licence plate holder, a chipped headlight and cracked seals to the rear window and broken sun visor clip. She even has the original yellow fan complete with all the little cracks in the hub ( do judges give extra points for being brave enough to show up to displays with fans like these?)
I'm not going to use the word concours, but I I fancy cleaning her up, fixing the leaks and, of course, getting all 12 pots playing nicely together.
The car is near a Jag Wreckers and a Jag specialist mechanic (Ringwood, Victoria) so I have back up.
Most of my posts will be questions directed at those who have pulled heads themselves and what went wrong, did the liners shift, how did you deal with a broken timing tensioner, do you know a good source for engines, does anybody need a donor car, help I put an angle grinder through the block -those kinds of questions.
I'm also a bit Obsessive which might help, and I bought a soda blaster.
She may never run again, but she will be clean

Welcome again.
Those comp readings with closed throttles are sweet, especially after sitting so long.
Give each cylinder a squirt of oil and do them again. It will RUN on those pressures, and after a short period will probably settle down significantly.
Dont get too far ahead of yourself, as that will create a big stumble.
