New Member 2004 Jaguar X-Type
Hello everyone! I haven finnaly given up and joined the forums. After watching closely seeing what to do with my car I decided to join.
To start I will talk about myself. I am from Moscow Idaho but live in the Portland Oregon area. I am a 19 year old college student with a love for cars.
Now for my X-Type. I purchased it with the help of my parents about two years ago. It is a 2004 3.0 Automatic. I have lowered it on H&R springs with the help of the forums on here. I have also put drilled and slotted rotors in myself which made a improvement but still feels funny for some reason. I did the quick and easy air box mod by cutting out the fins on the factory box. This made a noticeable improvement in noise and maybe highway acceleration.
Now for the interesting part. About 9 months ago I noticed a nocking noise when turning the wheel on slow corners. I continued to drive and later that night acclerated from a stop at normal speed and at about 15 MPH something blew up. I pulled over and smelt burning and later found out that my transfer case had actually cracked and blew! This was a sad moment and $2500 dollars and a month later I have a working Jag.
In 5 months I plan to get 18 inch TSW Nurburgring wheels along with 225 40 18 Super Sports. I am excited for this because of the lightweight wheels and of course the amazing tire that I will be running around them.
My car is the Purple/Blue and I love the color! The one sad thing in I have a lot of paint missing from my front bumper and it looks terrible
Thanks For Reading!

Welcome to the forum Aiden,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Great colour - terrible parking spot!
It sounds like you've already found your way to the X-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the USA Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
