Hi all,
I just bought a beautiful used 2010 XJL SC (X351) with 78K miles on it. Its my first Jaguar and it is in remarkable condition. There are a couple of (minor) items that have come to my attention over the first month of ownership, but nothing that affects the driving or function of the car (though I had a brief scare I'll share in another post). Interestingly the car was a ghost car (read as dealer used, but technically unsold) until 2014, when it finally sold to its first owner with ~35,000 miles on it. Apparently it was driven around by a Jaguar VP or something. I don't know if that affects anything or not, but thought it might prompt discussions.
The car is black on black, fully loaded (rear entertainment, 20" wheels, adaptive cruise, suede headliner...etc). I love the look, sound, size and power of the car (as well as the cooling & massaging seats)! Of course the kids love the car too, particularly the tray tables and the rear entertainment screens. If it performs half as well as it looks, I will be a Jaguar evangelist for life.
I look forward to joining in the forum discussions and attempting a little more DIY maintenance. I've already started by buying a obdII reader and a repair manual (albeit the manual is 1600 pages, and yet seems to lack detailed turn-by-turn instructions). So if anyone has suggestions for a good repair manual for dummies, it would be much appreciated. Thanks and its a pleasure to meet you all in advance!
