My mother is the original owner of my 2008 Jaguar (I have owned it for the last 5 years) with 75,000. It is currently in the shop having the suspension completely redone in the rear while it gets fit for a brand new alternator. I have used these forums several times to diagnose odd lights/warning bells in the past and finally decided to join.

Now I am debating on whether to retire it to being a back-up car (It is currently my daily driver and I am emotionally attached to the car) or really put in the time and remove a dent in the hood to take it to some local shows.

Welcome to the forums Abby,

Good to have you with us.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also use the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-mid-atlantic-65/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Abby,
I don't know about shows, been there done that didn't like it, but if that dent in the hood bothers you so much have that fixed and then DRIVE THE WHEELS OFF THE CAR!!

It won't like sitting, deterioration will set in so fast you won't believe it!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
