I'm a "car guy". Have had 71 cars, and until 2016 my cost was $0.00. I would buy cars (mostly high performance and mostly European) that had issues, either mechanical, paint, or body. Would fix them up and drive for a year or two, then sell. As I have gotten older I have bought and sold cars that had nothing wrong. Last week I took delivery of an immaculate 2000 XK8. Not nearly as fast as I am used to but comfortable and it is a Jag! While in college I restored an XKE that had a blown engine, and survived that experience while learning a great deal.
Hope to learn from you folks my way around the car. I am in Abita Springs, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans.

Welcome to the forums CaptWSims,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Southern Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...rn-midwest-67/ to find other members in your region.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
