Good Morning All. I'm David from NYC (Now in Maryland) and I purchased a 2005 STR in February of this year. The color is Platinum and the recorded mileage at that ime was 338400. I'm presently up to 38629 and am very impressed with the vehcile's overall performance.
Naturally, I've noticed a few glitches i.e. reduced performance mode after going through a car wash, and for the first time, achieving full limp mode after some torrential rain this past Saturday in the greater Maryland area.
I joined this forum to acquire ideas on performance, general upkeep and to share ideas and information with other vehicle owners in an attempt to maximize my jaguar experience.
I've been an Audi enthusiast and have owned many but these S Type R's are surely some sleek, muscular attractive vehcile's and after seeing a wealthly Old G browse around my neighborhood in a 2007 Green one, I had to make this my next car. I've scheduled my first maintenance appointment to look into the limp mode and limited performance mode hinderances I've experienced a few times and will share my findings with this forum.
The commentary on the subject matter has been very enlightening and I hope I can contribute some additional useful information to other members. As soon as I can, I'll post some pictures of my vehcile though I haven't pimped anything out yet.

Docuzzie, welcome to the forums. Sounds like you have a little hicup wtih the kitty. HOpefully it is something silly like the plug to the ECU is coming loose and allowing water in. I am south of you by about 90 minutes down near California MD. So, if you ever need a hand, give a hollar. I love getting greasy and working on cars.
So, sit back, grab a cup of Joe and see what you can learn about your car. I think you will find a lot of useful information around these parts.

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.
Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.
